Manitoba Brings Home Medals
Shoto Cup Results
Six members of ISKF Manitoba traveled to Toronto to compete in the World Shoto Cup this past Thanksgiving Weekend. Many others from Manitoba were there to cheer on our Manitoba competitors and team Canada.
Our Manitoba team did extremely well. All members made it to the second round of eliminations and several made it to the finals.
Our girls kata team, Alicia Ingrilli, Zoe Stewart, Maia Nelko, placed first winning the Gold Medal.
Ruski Sungalon placed third in boys youth Kumite, receiving the Bronze Medal
Maia Nelko placed third in girls youth kata, receiving the Bronze Medal.
Alicia Ingrilli placed second in girls youth Kumite, receiving the Silver Medal.
There were over 800 competitors from over 20 countries. The completion was excellent as the camaraderie between countries.

The FIRST 7th Dan Black Belt in Manitoba
International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF)
The Instructors and Students of ISKF Manitoba would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Sensei Larry Loreth on his achievement. Sensei Loreth has studied/taught Shotokan karate for over 40 years and now holds the rank of 7th Dan. Ranking as one of the most senior karate instructors in Canada, he is a graduate instructor of the ISKF Instructor's Training Program, ISKF examiner and sits as a member of the Provincial and International ISKF Technical Committees. Many Congratulations to Sensei Loreth for all his hard work and dedication to the practice and instruction of Shotokan Karate.
